About Kate

Kate has been a lecturer since 2012 where she was the course leader for the Animal Science Foundation degree at UCS. In 2014 she started her own dog walking and pet sitting business whilst continuing to work as a freelance lecturer for Writtle University College and the online course provider, the Dog Business School. She has written and taught many canine related courses including Canine Care, Welfare and Behaviour, Canine First Aid, How to Start a Dog Walking Business, plus Certificates of Competence in Dog Walking and Pet Sitting. Many of these courses are Ofqual regulated.

After being the first person in the UK to achieve the iPet Network Level 4 Canine First Aid qualification, Kate started offering bespoke courses in canine first aid and canine behaviour for dog owners and walkers, home boarders and dog day care staff (in their place of work). Since 2022 she also works as a freelance qualification development consultant in the Animal Care and Veterinary Science sector, with AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group. And is an approved assessor for Animal Care Apprenticeship with iPet Network. She no longer runs a dog walking business.
Kate is now also an approved Training Provider for iPet Network, offering a wide range of canine related Ofqual regulated courses. She has a PGCE, an MSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare, and a BSc in Agricultural and Environmental Science (Hons: Animal Science). A Level 4 in Canine First Aid, and is currently studying a Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Canine Behaviour Management. She lives in Essex with her 2 Labradors.
